Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the MapaJob mobile application. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use MapaJob.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MapaJob ("we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the MapaJob mobile application, available on iOS and Android (the "App"), and any related services, features, or content (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, downloading the App, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. About MapaJob
MapaJob is a mobile job discovery and vacancy platform powered by Google Maps. The Service enables:
- Job Seekers to browse an interactive map showing live job vacancies posted by companies, save listings, and apply directly within the App.
- Companies to create a profile, pin every location on the map — including multiple offices or subsidiaries — post job vacancies, and manage listings via an in-app dashboard.
MapaJob acts as a platform connecting job seekers with employers. We do not participate in any hiring decisions, employment negotiations, or employment contracts, and we are not a party to any agreement made between job seekers and employers.
3. User Accounts
To access certain features of the App, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
- Maintain and promptly update your account information.
- Keep your password secure and not share it with any third party.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at support@map-a-job.com.
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may not create an account on behalf of another individual without their consent, or create multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or restrictions.
4. Job Seekers
As a job seeker using MapaJob, you agree that:
- All information you provide in your profile, CV, and cover letters is truthful, accurate, and your own work. Misrepresentation of qualifications or experience is prohibited.
- You will use the App only for legitimate personal job-seeking purposes.
- You will not apply for roles you are clearly ineligible for with the intent of disrupting an employer's recruitment process.
- Any CV, cover letter, or personal information you upload may be shared with the employer to whom you have applied. You consent to this sharing as part of the application process.
- Browsing the job map does not require an account. However, saving roles, applying, and receiving job alerts require registration.
- If you believe a listing or company profile is fraudulent, misleading, or otherwise breaches these Terms, you can report it from within the App — see Section 7 (Content Moderation & Reporting).
MapaJob does not guarantee that you will be contacted by or receive an interview with any employer. Employers are solely responsible for their hiring decisions.
5. Companies
If you use MapaJob as a company to post job listings, you agree to the following additional terms:
- Accurate listings: All job postings must accurately describe the role, location, compensation, and requirements. Misleading or fraudulent listings are strictly prohibited.
- Compliance: All listings must comply with applicable employment law, including equal opportunities legislation. Discriminatory postings will be removed without notice.
- Real vacancies only: You may only post roles for genuine, current vacancies. Speculative listings, talent pools, or data-harvesting posts are not permitted.
- Multiple locations: Companies with more than one office or subsidiary must accurately attribute each job listing to the correct location. MapaJob may request verification of any company profile at any time.
- Data handling: Applicant data received through MapaJob must be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law (including UK GDPR and GDPR where applicable). You must not use applicant data for any purpose other than evaluating candidates for the specific role applied for.
MapaJob reserves the right to review, edit, or remove any listing that violates these Terms or our content guidelines, at our sole discretion and without prior notice — see Section 7 (Content Moderation & Reporting) for how listings are reviewed, including automated review and user reporting.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Post, transmit, or distribute content that is false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or illegal.
- Impersonate any person, company, or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Scrape, harvest, or extract data from the App using automated tools, bots, or scripts.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other user accounts, or related systems.
- Introduce malware, viruses, or any malicious code into the Service.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
- Use the Service for any purpose that competes with MapaJob without our prior written consent.
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Service.
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement authorities.
7. Content Moderation & Reporting
To help keep MapaJob safe and trustworthy for job seekers and companies alike, we review content posted to the Service both before and after it becomes visible to other users. This section explains how.
- Automated review. New job listings are automatically screened — including by an AI-based content review tool — for signs of employment scams (such as requests for upfront payment or bank details) and for other prohibited content described in Section 6. Automated review is informational and does not itself block a listing from being posted; flagged listings are followed up by human review.
- Reporting a listing or company. Any user can report a job listing or company profile from within the App. When you submit a report, we log it, acknowledge receipt to you by email, and review the reported content. If you are located in the European Union, this reporting mechanism is provided in accordance with the EU Digital Services Act's notice-and-action requirements.
- What we may do. Where we determine that content violates these Terms or our content guidelines, we may edit or remove the listing, as described in Section 5. In serious or repeated cases, we may also block the associated email address, domain, or identity from creating new listings or company profiles on MapaJob, independently of and in addition to suspending any specific account under Section 13 (Termination).
- No guarantee. We use reasonable efforts to detect and act on prohibited content, but we do not guarantee that all such content will be identified, reviewed, or removed before you see it. See Section 10 (Disclaimers).
Personal information submitted as part of a report — such as your name and email address — is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the App — including but not limited to the MapaJob name, logo, design, text, graphics, software, and underlying technology — are owned by or licensed to MapaJob and are protected by applicable intellectual property law.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not include any right to:
- Reproduce, copy, or distribute any part of the App for commercial purposes.
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App.
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App.
Content you submit to MapaJob (such as your profile, CV, or job listings) remains your own. By submitting content, you grant MapaJob a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, and distribute that content solely to operate and improve the Service.
9. Payments & Subscriptions
Certain features of MapaJob — specifically the posting of job vacancies by companies — require payment. The following terms apply:
- Posting credits: You may purchase individual job-posting credits to post a single vacancy at the advertised credit price.
- Annual unlimited subscription: A subscription plan providing unlimited job postings for a fixed annual fee is available. Subscription terms, including price and renewal conditions, are displayed at the time of purchase.
- Billing: All payments are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android). MapaJob does not directly store payment card information. Your payment is subject to the terms of Apple or Google as applicable.
- Renewals: Annual subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel via your device's subscription settings (Apple ID settings or Google Play subscriptions).
- Refunds: Refund requests for in-app purchases are subject to Apple App Store or Google Play refund policies. MapaJob does not independently process refunds for in-app purchases.
- Price changes: We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use of paid features after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
- Job listings are accurate, complete, or up to date — listings are provided by third-party employers. Our automated and manual content review (Section 7) and company verification signals (such as the "Verified" badge) are aimed at detecting fraud and confirming certain identity signals — they are not a guarantee that a listing is accurate or that a company is legitimate, and you should always exercise your own judgement.
- The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
- Any particular job application will result in an interview, offer, or employment.
MapaJob uses the Google Maps Platform. Use of Google Maps functionality within the App is subject to Google's Terms of Service. MapaJob is not responsible for any inaccuracies in map data provided by Google.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MapaJob and its directors, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising from:
- Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service.
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service, including any job postings by employers.
- Any job offer, employment relationship, or dispute between you and an employer.
- Unauthorised access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.
In no event shall MapaJob's total liability to you exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to MapaJob in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
12. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using MapaJob, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we determine it is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
You may delete your account at any time via the account settings within the App. Upon deletion, your profile and personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply after termination.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending a notification through the App.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer located in another jurisdiction, you may also have rights under the laws of that jurisdiction that cannot be contractually excluded.
